Lower the lights. Raise the Curtain. Cue the Volunteers!

Become a volunteer and be an important part of your community. By helping to promote the performing arts you will:

Gain new skills and experiences
Share your unique skills

Please note: You must be at least 16 years old to be a volunteer. Volunteers between the ages of 16-18 must have parental consent.

Volunteer Roles

These are the volunteer roles we make available:

Ambassador

As an Ambassador you are the face of the Theatre; welcoming and assisting patrons as they enter and exit the Theatre.

Core Responsibilities:

  • meet, welcome and direct patrons with a friendly smile
  • answer any questions and promote The Centre’s programming and events
  • support fellow volunteers when needed
  • follow emergency and fire procedures (training provided)
  • deliver a first-rate experience to all

Ticket Collector

As a Ticket Collector you oversee audience entrance. You will monitor and gather patron’s tickets as they make their way into the theatre to find their seats.

Core Responsibilities:

  • warmly greet and collect performance tickets (assisting and directing latecomers)
  • count and present ticket stubs to Manager at night’s end
  • offer direction and distribute programs
  • support fellow coat check volunteers during intermission and after the performance
  • follow emergency and fire procedures (training provided)
    provide service excellence

Usher

As an Usher you are an audience aid, working with the ticket collector to support and help patrons find their seats.

Core Responsibilities:

  • supply “red carpet” treatment while directing and guiding patrons to their seats
  • assist anyone whom requires assistance or special seating arrangements
  • respond to and handle house disturbances
  • support fellow coat check volunteers during intermission and after the performance
  • aid with general tidying of the theatre after the performance
  • follow emergency and fire procedures (training provided)

Coat Check Attendant

As a Coat Check Attendant, you care for audience belongings and managing the careful storage and retrieval of personal effects.

Core Responsibilities:

  • organize coat check setup
  • provide service excellence to all incoming and departing patrons
  • carefully store effects and supply patrons with matching ticket
  • retrieve and return stored items
  • place any non-claimed items in lost and found
  • support fellow volunteers when needed
  • follow emergency and fire procedures (training provided)

Merchandise Assistant

As a Merchandise Assistant, you facilitate audience sales. You help manage the display and sale of artist’s materials.

Core Responsibilities:

  • organize merchandise setup
  • provide first-rate service to all patrons
  • sell artist merchandise, processing monetary transactions
  • track sales and inventory of artists materials
  • support fellow volunteers when needed
  • follow emergency and fire procedures (training provided)
