Sylvia Prentice lives and works in the community of Burlington, Ontario. Sylvia is the owner of a full-service advertising agency, MCA (MacKinnon Calderwood Advertising).

With 20+ years in the advertising industry including years of entrepreneurship, she has built a team of media experts and led strategic campaigns across a wide range of sectors including travel, entertainment, B2C, franchises, B2B, and iGaming.

Sylvia has provided guidance as an advisor to Humber College’s marketing and advertising programs for over 20 years. One of her passions is shaping the future of advertising through engaging in student mentorships, offering co-op and entry level placements and participating in industry-focused panel discussions as a long-term member of the Humber’s advisory committee, to which she was recently named chair.

She also serves on the Board of Directors for NorthStar Gaming, where she sits on the Compliance Committee.

Her team’s work has earned a Canadian Marketing Award for a project celebrating a client’s ‘100 Years’ in business, a Frankie (Franchise Award) for creativity, and placed their agency on the Profit 100 list across consecutive years.

Sylvia’s other passions are community and the arts. From participating in dance and attending theatre performances in her youth, to graduating with an Arts degree from the University of Western Ontario. Sylvia continuously enjoys celebrating local talent and regularly attends concerts and community events with her family of five. Sylvia is also a contributing member of the Burlington Chamber of Commerce.
